PwC’s Indigenous Consulting (PIC), Intrepid Travel, and Welcome to Country, have been engaged by the NIAA to design and administer the FNTMP across each of the 11 NIAA regions. The objective of the FNTMP is to strengthen the economic participation of First Nations people in the Australian tourism industry and support First Nations tourism businesses to take advantage of the growing interest and demand from domestic and international visitors. The ITF is being delivered by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) to stimulate the growth and development of the First Nations tourism sector. The $10 million FNTMP is a key element of the four-year $40 million Indigenous Tourism Fund (ITF). Mentees will have access to expert advice, tailored learning, and culturally respectful industry specialists. This program is designed to support mentees to grow their tourism businesses and achieve their business goals. The First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program (FNTMP) is a new, free mentoring program for First Nations tourism businesses across Australia, matching businesses with skilled and experienced mentors.
